And in a way, they're right; not about the Gold Standard bullshit, but our economy really has become illusory, not backed by anything material. The only way that we <I>can</I> drive our economy any more is to buy the piles and piles of useless shit that super-rich corporations build overseas and then ship back here. Most of us build our lives not on funds that are even as substantial as the $600 tax refund, but on credit.
