Unfortunately I'm moving from San Francisco to Seattle next week so I will miss you by a few months. Here are some recommendations:

- The Haight, as Amanda mentioned is there are lots of great Thrift stores. There is a restaurant called Kan Zaman which is very fun. It is a Mediterranean restaurant which has belly dancing in the evening.

- The Mission, this is one of my favorite neighborhoods. There are lots of great Mexican restaurants as well as other types of foods. If you like tapas Picaro on 16th Street is very good. For sushi, We Be Sushi on Valencia is very good and reasonably priced. The Mission also has great bars and music. The Elbow Room has live music on the weekends. There are also a lot of dive bars in The Mission.

- If you want to check out some museums I recommend the SF MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) which I believe is pretty close to the Exhibition Center. Also, the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park is great and has a wonderful of the City. If you go to Golden Gate Park, it is free go up the view tower at the De Young Museum.

Enjoy your trip and feel free to contact me if you would like more ideas.

StefAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428200.post-15925721325420181242007-01-29T00:47:00.000-05:002007-01-29T00:47:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.karmadoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16529578964655359852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428200.post-76338288492068348832007-01-28T11:23:00.000-05:002007-01-28T11:23:00.000-05:00Yes, the Haight is the only place I've been--I got...Yes, the Haight is the only place I've been--I got some amazing thrift finds at the Wasteland and used CDs at Amoeba records. I so want to go and meet all of you!

The Haight, which is right beside Golden Gate Park, has several different independent stores including many thrift stores, as well as headshops, custom exciting underwear stores, new age, retro, and one of the largest new and used independent music stores in the country.

Plus, the Cartoon Art Museum is about a mile away from the Expo venue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
