S...I'm an expat US citizen living in Australia. Since 1996, I've had single-payer universal health coverage. If I need treatment, I show up at my GP's office, plunk down my Medicare (yep, Aus uses the same name as the US single-payer health program) card, get done what I need to and off down the road I go.

I can't help but laugh my head off at wingnuts who somehow think Medicare for all is a bad thing. If there's any 'death panels' in US healthcare, they're already in existence at the monstrous private health insurance & HMO companies.

My last experience with healthcare in the US was when I showed up at an ER for treatment after being rear-ended by a cop car. The hospital wanted my insurance info or a credit card before they wanted to know what was wrong with me.

The Democrats have a bully majority in Congress. If Obama doesn't push for single-payer universal coverage for all Americans, he should never again be able to sleep at night.weezhttp://machinegunkeyboard.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428200.post-66463593936578667092009-08-16T20:08:25.308-04:002009-08-16T20:08:25.308-04:00Or end up in a van down by the river. When the Right raves about "choice," it's helpful to remember what they mean by "right to work": not the right to have a decent job at a decent wage, but the right to take what an employer offers or go pound sand.

--nashtbrutusandshort
Categorical Aperitifnashhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06197147046558468601noreply@blogger.com
