It was weird enough that the guy who engineered the rise of Jesse Helms and is currently trying to take down Hillary Clinton is a married gay man. Now I discover via Atrios that Rick Santorum (the guy who equates being gay to "man-on-dog" sex) has an openly gay aide (who also happens to be black). RICK SANTORUM. Mind ... cannot... compute. I don't know if my theory about all that is complex enough to encompass it all...
