I'm pleased with the steps that have been taken, but there was a something that concerned me from an article I read on the story. Vermont Gov. Douglas said he issued a veto on the bill since the ruling would not allow same-sex couples rights under federal law. So the question is: if we are to see this trend continue, how do we effectively tell the federal government "Stay out of state businesses, you intrusive, bureaucratic fascists!"? Or... maybe something a little less harsh, but still to get the message across that the feds need to respect state rights. Any thoughts?
