Senator Kennedy, Hero of LGBT Rights!

I did this front-cover tribute illustration for Bay Windows' special Kennedy tribute issue. The idea was Kennedy as an LGBT rights hero, so I looked to vintage superhero comic book covers for inspiration:

The editors tell me the reaction to the cover was so positive they're framing it and sending it to the Kennedy family.
And here's the final cover with logo on top:

It wasn't until he died and I read up on his political positions that I realized just how great he was on LGBT rights and other things.
That is beautiful! Congrats to you and condolences to us all, especially to those closest to him,

he was a LGBT rights hero too? wow the more you know
Don't look now but Americans for Truth AND mass resistance both used this in a rather disgusting and disrespectful post about Ted.
Another reason to feel sad for Teddy's passing... LGBT seems to often have a silent suffix with Rep. Frank handling the file.
You forgot to not the heroic act of getting drunk and murdering a woman via drowning.
